This term in 4/5F and 5/6S we have launched Tinkertime. It has been welcomed with huge success and the kids have loved it.
Mr Weeks has been joining us and helped us create our plots. We gave students a description of the task at the beginning of the term and explained what they will be developing over the term and what we hoped they would achieve.
Students were dropped on a planet and they have to grow their own crop of food. Students needed to research the different materials that they could use to help their plants grow and objects that might be useful to the conditions of their planet. They needed to design their plot of land. We have developed our own currency and students are allowed to visit the shop to purchase goods such as mesh, tape, cable ties, mulch, Perlite, Vermiculite, Charcoal and other materials to protect their plot from the evil Stibbar's that come and attack their plants.
It has been wonderful to see how creative some people have been, trying to figure out different ways to protect their plots and how to collect water for their plants.
We are looking forward to seeing the final results.
